With Mid-Continent Machining’s Direct-Source Machining (DSM) program, our team manages all raw material sourcing, price discovery, and logistics. You issue the purchase order directly to the material supplier—completely bypassing the conventional 20-30% markup applied by most CNC shops.
Here’s how it works:
Step 1: Source & Vette
We specify dimensions, quantity, negotiate mill pricing, and inspect discributor certs prior to purchase.
Step 2: Issue Direct POs
You issue the PO directly to the metal vendor at pure pass-through cost (zero markup)
You issue a separate PO for machining to us—our labor only—alleviating any carrying cost pass-thru.
Step 3: Dock to Spindle
Material ships directly to our dock. We count it, inspect it, and provide material control reports to you.
Production begins immediately—within 2 biz days of arrival.
Step 4: 15-Day Target
Finished components are machined, inspected, packaged and shipped within 15 production days.
