With Mid-Continent Machining’s Direct-Source Machining (DSM) program, our team manages all raw material sourcing, price discovery, and logistics. You issue the purchase order directly to the material supplier—completely bypassing the conventional 20% markup applied by most CNC shops.

Here’s how it works:

Step 1: We Source & Vette Material Sources

We specify dimensions, quantity, negotiate mill pricing, and inspect distributor certs prior to purchase.

Step 2: You Issue Purchase Orders Directly to Sources

You issue the PO directly to the metals vendor at pure pass-through cost (zero markup).

You issue a separate PO for machining to us—our labor only—alleviating any carrying cost pass-thru.

Step 3: Dock to Spindle

Material ships directly to our dock. We count it, inspect it, and provide material control reports to you. We provide monthly inventory control reports to you.

Production begins immediately—within 2-3 biz days of arrival.

Step 4: 20-Day Target

Finished component batch sizes are machined, inspected, packaged and shipped within 20-production days of your first order—to your line.
